Driver

Scope of work

The position of the driver primarily involves the transportation of clients to and from day program, medical appointments, meetings, recreational activities etc. Drivers must be able to communicate effectively and with courtesy, patience and flexibility. Drivers must maintain good interactions and relationships with clients, families, social workers and community.

Duties Of the Driver

• Personal vehicle usage is not permitted.
• Vehicle Inspection by a Mechanic prior to transportation use and there after every 6 months.
  • Brakes
  • Tires
  • Transmission
  • Fluids
• Vehicle must have operating seatbelts, air and heating, windshield wipers, good tires, ½ tank of gas,
  adequate amount of oil, transmission and radiator fluids.
• Vehicle must be clean inside and out.
• Driver is to ensure all seatbelts are buckled by physically/visually checking prior to departure.
• Assist clients in and out of vehicles.
• First rider employee is to sit next to back door. Second rider employee is to sit in back seat. Both for
  purposes of; interacting/monitoring residents and evacuation of van incase of emergency.
• Carry fully equipped First Aid Kit .
• Carry water.
• Ensure Medication Box is in vehicle (when needed).
• Carry Client Orientation Sheets.
• Maintain Mileage Report Form daily.
• Submit Gas Receipts daily.
